摘要: OBJECTIVE: Epidermal growth factor receptor (EGF) gene amplification is commonly seen in cancer and the target of many therapies. EGF variant III (EGFRvIII) most common has been detected a large percent - age patients with glioblastoma multiforme but not normal brain. Therapies targeting EGFRvIII are currently being investigated clinical preclinical trials. METHODS: A 14-year-old girl who presented headaches was found to have pineal parenchymal tumor intermediate differentiation. We review histopathological properties that led diagnosis this tumor. expression analyzed tumors. status patient's RESULTS: Tumor tissue obtained flow cytometry, reverse-transcriptase polymerase chain reaction, Western blot analysis. by all 3 methods. The further fluorescence situ hybridization, which did reveal amplification. CONCLUSION: This first report It interesting absence larger study evaluating presence EGFRvlll tumors needed.
