摘要: ELG1 is a conserved gene uncovered in number of genetic screens yeast aimed at identifying factors important the maintenance genome stability. Elg1's activity prevents gross chromosomal rearrangements, maintains proper telomere length regulation, helps repairing DNA damage created by genotoxins and participates sister chromatid cohesion. Elg1 evolutionarily conserved, its mammalian ortholog (also known as ATAD5) embryonic lethal when lost mice, acts tumor suppressor mice humans, exhibits physical interactions with components human Fanconi Anemia pathway may be responsible for some phenotypes associated neurofibromatosis. In this review, we summarize information available on Elg1-related activities mammals, present models to explain how different observed absence are related.
