摘要: To review the demographic data of a series adenoid cystic carcinoma (ACC) tongue, as well to analyze c-kit expression, histopathologic patterns, prognostic factors, evolution, recurrences and/or persistence and survival. Retrospective study from 1986 2006, which reviews database 68 patients with diagnosis head neck ACC. We found eight cases ACC tongue (11.7% all ACCs). There were 7 female (87.5%) 1 male (12.5%) patients, an average age 51 years (range 33 67 years). Seven surgically treated, three required adjuvant treatment. Only one patient did not accept Average follow-up time was 5.3 years. Metastases developed in 37% during period. Histopathologically, cribriform pattern predominated (6/8 cases). All presented perineural invasion, also vascular invasion. positivity observed cases. Global survival seven treated 51% 34% at 5 10 years, respectively, while disease-free period 64% 3 42% is rare neoplasm, early important because these are slowly-growing tumors that produce diffuse As role could be assesed this series, surgery continues cornerstone treatment radiotherapy indicated when surgical margins compromised. Metastatic disease still hard handle lack adequate therapies for tumors. Hence, has changed last
