摘要: Despite the discrepancies observed between data generated from humans and animals, it is common practice to extrapolate animal models humans. This chapter discusses usefulness of in research development, but also stresses need exercise caution interpreting results. Complete reliance on results experiments can be dangerously misleading, resulting damage human health as well loss valuable time resources. Furthermore, we will elaborate validity reliability rodent models, role confounding factors using precautionary advice when extrapolating obtained a larger, heterogeneous population.
