摘要: The purpose of this review is to present animal research models that can be used screen and/or repurpose medications for the treatment alcohol abuse and dependence. focus will on rats in particular selectively bred rats. Brief introductions discuss various aspects clinical picture, which provide characteristics individuals with use disorders (AUDs) model animals. Following this, multiple rat lines described evaluated context treat AUDs. Next, common behavioral tests drug efficacy discussed particularly as they relate stages addiction cycle. Tables highlighting studies have tested effects compounds using respective techniques are included. Wherever possible Tables are organized chronologically ascending order describe changes AUDs over time. In general, high ethanol-consuming been test a wide range compounds. Older usually followed neurobiological findings selected supported an association propensity ethanol intake. Most these compound's maintenance drinking. Very few during ethanol-seeking relapse fewer still assessed their acquisition Overall, while substantial number neurotransmitter neuromodulatory system targets assessed; roles sex- age-of-animal, well AUDs, continue factors behaviors needing further study. This article part Special Issue entitled "Alcoholism".
