摘要: Abstract Risks of personal injury from gas explosion, together with fire and smoke ingress, were among the key hazards that Eastern Trough Area Project (ETAP) team intended to design out as far possible. This paper describes process ETAP followed achieve this. The involved early application appropriate advance technology personnel at concept selection stage right through different stages during design, an integrated including explosion specialists. All major decisions on optimisation made front-end engineering (FEED), resulting in a relatively straightforward detailed phase. These had effect not only reducing consequences, but simplifying layout, e.g. pipe run structures. end result is which gives inherently low risk Temporary Refuge impairment without uncertainties high cost late remedial work take account loads, consequent project delay.
