摘要: Alfaxalone is a neurosteroid with general anesthetic properties. His steroid structure, analog progesterone, might have an influence on patient glycaemia. The aim of our study was to assess variations glycaemia after alfaxalone induction. For this we used 7 female adult laboratory rabbits premedicated fentanyl (0.0125 mg/kg) and droperidol (0.625 intramuscular. Alfaxan ® administered intravenously at total dose 3mg/kg by constant rate infusion over 60 seconds using syringe pump. Blood samples were drawn prior 2, 4, 6, 10, 15, 20, 30 induction indwelling catheter in the central auricular artery for instant blood glucose determination.Mean value arterial recorded 154,36 mg/dl (81-262) highest peak minute 4 Glucose variation remained within normal limits 4. Other studies showed increased plasmatic progesterone administration. Women progesterone-T intrauterine device three hours. A made rats increase minutes theory that may be further studied higher number animals, however interesting fact four when suffered most profound cardio-respiratory depression, peak. More extensive monitoring pharmacokinetic are needed comment accurately effects rabbits.
