摘要: Oleuropein-rich extracts from olive leaves and their enzymatic acid hydrolysates, respectively rich in oleuropein aglycone hydroxytyrosol, were prepared under optimal conditions. The antioxidant activities of these examined by a series models vitro. In this study the lipid-lowering antioxidative oleuropein, hydroxytyrosol-rich rats fed cholesterol-rich diet tested. Wistar standard laboratory or diets for 16 weeks used. serum lipid levels, thiobarbituric reactive substances (TBARS) level, as indicator peroxidation, liver enzymes (superoxide dismutase (SOD) catalase (CAT)) examined. induced hyperlipidemia resulting elevation total cholesterol (TC), triglycerides (TG) low-density lipoprotein (LDL-C). Administration polyphenol-rich leaf significantly lowered levels TC, TG LDL-C increased level high-density (HDL-C). Furthermore, content TBARS liver, heart, kidneys aorta decreased after oral administration compared with those diet. addition, potential hepatic CAT SOD activities. These results suggested that hypocholesterolemic effect might be due to abilities lower well slowing peroxidation process enhancing enzyme activity.
