摘要: Total U.S. trade with NAFTA partners has increased 78 percent in real terms since 1993-U.S.-Mexico alone is up 141 percent- compared to a 43 increase the rest of world. In this article we compare nature growth Canada and Mexico non-NAFTA partners. We apply simple decomposition offered by Hummels Klenow (2002) that provides insights into whether United States trading more same goods 1993, or new products. The results provide evidence both. A sizeable component 1993 can be explained increases variety products imports from Mexico.
