摘要: We study the competition between two political parties for seats in a parliament. The parliament will set types of policies: ideological and non-ideological. have fixed positions on issues, but choose their non-ideological platforms to attract voters campaign contributions. In this context, we ask: How do equilibrium contributions from special interest groups influence parties? show that each party is induced behave as if it were maximizing weighted sum aggregate welfares informed members groups. expected win majority caters more interests.
