摘要: Vibrio cholerae is a human pathogen, which transmitted by the consumption of contaminated food or water. V. strains belonging to serogroups O1 and O139 can cause cholera outbreaks epidemics, severe life-threatening diarrheal disease. In contrast, other than O139, denominated as non-O1/non-O139, have been mainly associated with sporadic cases moderate mild diarrhea, bacteremia wound infections. Here we investigated virulence determinants phylogenetic origin non-O1/non-O139 strain that caused gastroenteritis outbreak in Santiago, Chile, 2018. We found this lacks classical genes harboured strains, including toxin (CT) toxin-coregulated pilus (TCP). However, carries genomic islands (GIs) encoding Type III VI secretion systems (T3SS/T6SS) antibiotic resistance genes. Moreover, these GIs are wide distributed among several lineages strains. Our results suggest acquisition may enhance lack CT TCP-encoding highlight pathogenic potential
