摘要: To assess the potential exposure of aquatic ecosystems to active pharmaceutical ingredients, authors conducted a national-scale, probability-based statistical survey occurrence these compounds in surface waters United States. The included 182 sampling sites and targeted rivers with close proximity urban areas. 46 analytes reported represent many classes ingredients (APIs), including antibiotics, diuretics, antihypertensives, anticonvulsants, antidepressants. Of analytes, 37 were detected at least 1 location. Sulfamethoxazole (an antibiotic) was most frequently compound, being measured 141 surveyed concentrations ranging up 570 ng/L. Ten 20% or more sites. Weighted means analytical measurements are used design analysis provide national estimates extent contamination for APIs nation's rivers.
