摘要: This study examines middle-aged parents' disclosure about their own lives and current concerns, with late-adolescent children. Three hundred seventy-two parents of college freshmen, averaging 47 years age, participated by filling out an anonymous questionnaire that asked 28 topics, varying in intimacy, concern to adults. The subjects indicated whether they had discussed each topic child, and, if had, the motivations prompted them do so. data revealed mothers disclosed more than did fathers, were likely cite “venting,”“asking advice,” “seeking emotional support” as reasons for disclosure; fathers “trying change his/her behavior” a rationale disclosure.
