摘要: Composite materials have increasingly become more common in ground transportation. As this occured thicker panels, as compared to composite panels used aviation, necessary order withstand high impact loads and day degradation. The effectiveness of these was often limited by the strength joint which panel attached frame vehicle. Investigating methods reducing strain concentrations within joints would increase using transportation applications increasing load for failure occur. In study, fiber optic gages were embedded a along bearing plane thick, single-lap, bolted joint. allow profile above hole be determined experimentally. Several clearance values then implemented bolt determine their effect on concentrations. Strain increased at every gage, nearly same proportion, when from zero three percent. When further five percent only continued four, with one two remaining similar value what seen clearance. Ultimately, like thin condition stiffest.
