Three-dimensional structure of F1-ATPase of thermophilic bacterium PS3 obtained by electron crystallography

摘要: The three-dimensional molecular structure of the F1-ATPase from a thermophilic bacterium PS3 (TF1) at 3 nm resolution was reconstructed series tilted, negatively stained electron microscopic images two-dimensional crystals which were formed on clean surface mercury. It shown that six ellipsoidal columns, each approximately 7 in length and diameter, corresponding to alpha beta subunits, surrounded central hollow cavity 2.8 diameter. cavity, however, did not penetrate molecule, mass, most likely gamma subunit, existed depth 3.4 top.
