摘要: Publisher Summary This chapter provides an overview on flavoproteins. Enzymes in which flavin is the only redox active group are usually classified as “simple flavoproteins,” and those that contain additional electron carriers “complex flavoproteins.” Flavoenzymes may be defined electron-transferring enzymes a bound prosthetic (FMN or FAD). They catalyze reactions moiety accepts one two electrons from reducing substrate donates to oxidized of acceptor. Both reduction reoxidation by metabolites direct indirect. Another widely used classification flavoproteins, according catalyzed reactions, distinguishes among oxidases, dehydrogneases, oxygenases. Flavoprotein dehydrogenases do not reduce molecular oxygen at catalytically significant rates. Their physiological acceptors cytochromes, nonheme iron proteins, quinones, pyridine nucleotides, other oxygenases incorporation into form oxygenated product.
