摘要: Children with Down syndrome (DS) are known to have difficulty in learning read and write. This weak literacy can be attributed disability or poor phonological awareness, which also found typically developing children dyslexia. The aim of this study is verify whether awareness linked DS as it ones. In order show link the authors investigate relationship between single word reading ability several variables. Thirty-two native Italian were asked 50 words perform tests concerning phoneme syllable segmentation, blending, alliteration non-word repetition. Gender, intelligence quotient, age years schooling taken into consideration statistical analysis. Phoneme alliteration, repetition variables seen significantly related reading. However, was observed that gender, chronological age, education, blending not ability. Our underpins theory speaking same way occurs children. Phonemic rather than syllabic basic skill necessary able fluently, at least for words, our participants DS.
