摘要: Studies suggest households closest to parks and protected areas (PAs) are more likely sustain park-related losses, but the relationship between human sickness PAs has not been fully explored. Existing literature primarily focuses on human-wildlife conflicts (i.e. crop raiding) potential for zoonotic disease spillover emergence at human-livestock-wildlife interface PA boundaries. Understanding local perceptions of risk vulnerability is essential assessing health relative conservation areas. This understanding will promote better-informed consideration impacts in decision making conservation. Data from surveys taken 301 around Kibale National Park (KNP), an important area, were used identify perception factors influencing perceived vulnerability. Human was most frequently cited worry by respondents (88%) malaria illness (80.1 %). Those living closer may be greater harm frequent cases non-malarial fever. The high pervasive across region independent household distance park actual risk.
