摘要: Analysis of the history fluid flow and diagenesis in sandstone deposits can potentially furnish insight into how these function as reservoirs. Imaging spectroscopy provides a way to examine surface mineralogy order better understand this might have resulted from past diagenesis. Aerially-acquired spectral data, along with data field samples, are used help map site located within Jurassic Navajo Sandstone southern Utah. This site, “Mollies Nipple”, is unusual it butte containing jarosite; an atypical mineral for area. Mapping butte's conjunction its morphology may provide additional knowledge geologic In addition, presence hematite concretions well jarosite make terrestrial analog sediments on Mars.
