摘要: Heterogeneous networks (HetNets) are envisioned to enable next-generation cellular by providing higher spectral and energy efficiency. A HetNet is typically composed of multiple radio access technologies where several low-power low-cost operators or user-deployed small-cell base stations (SBSs) complement the macrocell network. In this paper, we consider a two-tier SBSs arranged around edge reference such that resultant configuration referred as cell-on-edge (COE). Each mobile user in small cell considered capable adapting its uplink transmit power according location-based slow control mechanism. The COE observed increase area efficiency (ASE) while reducing cochannel interference power. moment-generating-function (MGF)-based approach has been exploited derive analytical bounds on ASE configuration. derived expressions generalized for any composite fading distribution, closed-form presented generalized- ${\cal K}$ channels. Simulation results included support analysis show efficacy comparative performance also provided demonstrate improvements cell-edge users compared with macro-only (MoNets) other unplanned deployment strategies.
