摘要: The present study was conducted to assess the trace element concentration in marine surface sediments after major flood event of Chennai metropolis, India. Thirty samples were collected from off coast. Trace elements, organic matter, CaCO3, sand-silt-clay and C/N ratios studied understand accumulation dynamics on sediments. elemental concentration, calcium carbonate OM distribution suggest that they are derived urban runoff transported through Adyar Cooum Rivers. enrichment factor reveals enriched by Pb, Cu, Zn, Cr, Co, Ni followed Fe. observed Igeo value shows contaminated Cu Zn. is low when compared other coastal region except Pb. elevated level Pb probably due migration soil industrial transportation sectors into environment.
