摘要: Minor species of the Candida albicans complex may cause overestimation epidemiology C. albicans, and misidentifications could mask their implication in human pathology. Authors determined occurrence minor (C. africana, dubliniensis stellatoidea) among Yaounde HIV-infected patients, Cameroon. Stool, vaginal discharge, urine oropharyngeal samples were analysed by mycological diagnosis. Isolates identified conventional methods mass spectrometry (MS; carried out matrix-assisted laser desorption-ionisation time-of-flight MS protocol). isolates thereafter submitted to PCR amplification Hwp1 gene. The susceptibility antifungal drugs was tested using Clinical Laboratory Standards Institute M27-A3 protocol. From 115 obtained isolates, neither nor stellatoidea observed; two strains africana (422PV 448PV) electrophoretic profiles at 700 bp. These isolates. isolate 448PV resistant ketoconazole minimal inhibitory concentration 2 μg ml(-1), showed reduced amphotericin B 1 ml(-1). This first report on Cameroon brings clues for understanding global this yeast as well that complex.
