摘要: Background: Worldwide, Group A bovine rotavirus (RVA boRV) is one of the main causes neonatal calf diarrhoea. Currently, limited epidemiological and sequence data exists on RVA disease in bovines Southern Ireland only. The aim study was to generate boRV distributed over a wide geographical area Ireland. Findings: 272 stool samples were obtained from symptomatic calves analysed identify prevalent G P genotypes. Viral type combinations including G6P[5], G6P[11] G10P[11] genotype most frequently identified. G6P[5] combination predominant throughtout study, accounting for 70% (n=191). Sequence analysis VP7 gene revealed that Irish G6 strains fell within Lineage IV, similiar previous reports Conclusion: detection unusual may have an impact control programmes current vaccines need incorporate new strains, as vaccine available not offer protection against all these circulating types.
