X-ray and UV photoemission from defects in LiNb03 and BaTi03 surfaces

摘要: Abstract The electronic structure of LiNb03 and BaTi03 single crystal surfaces have been studied by X-ray UV photoemission spectroscopy. Band-gap defect emission has observed from Ar ion bombarded surfaces, which are disordered oxygen deficient. Electron heating restores the upper surface layers but creates bulk states. core level spectra show that Nb4+ ions Li 0 vacancies created during electron bombardment. band-gap state in can be interpreted as a 4d state.
