Hospital RNs' and CNOs' perceptions of the impact of the nursing shortage on the quality of care.

摘要: The results of analyses the 2002 and 2004 National Sample Surveys RNs CNOs document widespread perception that shortage nurses is a major problem for overall quality patient care in hospitals. In eyes majority hospital surveyed, processes involving communication, timely response to pages telephone calls, delays discharges, time patients had wait tests procedures were all affected negatively by nursing shortage. These are not encouraging.
