摘要: Abstract : The relative preignition and autoignition reactivity of o-, m- p-xylene has been studied. Preignition experiments were conducted in a pressurized flow reactor facility at 600-850 K temperatures, 8 atm pressure, lean equivalence ratios. Analysis the data included carbon monoxide dioxide measurements using nondispersive infrared analyzer molecular oxygen an electrochemical cell. Identification intermediate species was performed gas chromatography with flame ionization detection mass spectrometer. Additional single cylinder research engine. Neat o- m-xylene oxidized under conditions. They showed no reactivity, so mixtures each isomer n-dodecane tested compared, identified. This helped resolve recent controversy regarding xylene isomers. To study xylenes, isomers neat, binary n-decane, six-component JP-8 surrogates experimental analyzed compared to existing chemical kinetic models, it concluded that lower temperatures (<850 K), xylenes show similar higher o-xylene is more reactive isomer.
