Local poverty reduction in Chile and Mexico: The role of food manufacturing growth

摘要: This paper analyzes the relationship between local poverty and food manufacturing growth in Chile Mexico using propensity score matching, differences spatial econometrics methods. We focus on as a sector with number of characteristics that make it potentially pro-poor, whose incentives for distribution may either strengthen or dampen its reduction potential. The overall results indicate employment contributes to reduction.
