摘要: Healthy individuals at high risk of exposure to ticks were surveyed determine the prevalence and incidence asymptomatic babesiosis on Shelter Island, New York, during a single transmission season. Paired sera obtained in June October 1978 tested for antibodies Babesia microti by indirect immunofluorescence. Point values 4.4% 6.9% obtained. Six 102 persons both months showed least fourfold rise titer B. (an 5.9% season). None 300 serum specimens from York City metropolitan area had significant titers microti.
