摘要: We use high-energy X-ray diffraction microscopy (HEDM) to characterize the microstructure of Ni-base alloy 725. HEDM is a non-destructive technique capable providing three-dimensional reconstructions grain shapes and orientations in polycrystals. The present analysis yields size distribution 725 as well boundary character (GBCD) function lattice misorientation plane normal orientation. find that GBCD similar previously determined pure Ni other fcc-base metals. an elevated density Σ9 Σ3 boundaries. also observe preponderance boundaries along low-index planes, with those (1 1 1) planes being most common, even after twins have been excluded from analysis.
