摘要: Objective To identify the incidence rate (IR) and epidemiologic trends of childhood type 1 diabetes mellitus (T1DM) in children aged 0 to 14-yr-old from 1990 2013, north Spain (Biscay). Subjects Methods A prospective-retrospective study was performed. Capture–recapture method used: primary cases were ascertained hospital register a secondary independent data source obtained associations public health plan database. Age sex-standardized rates calculated using direct method, assuming an equal distribution each age/sex group. In order analyse period studied divided into two (1990–2001 2002–2013) 11-year periods. The 95% confidence interval (CI) estimated Poisson distribution. Results A total 399 new identified throughout study. Mean age at diagnosis 8.9 ± 3.7 yr. Completeness ascertainment 99.1%. annual age-standardized IR 10.7 (95% CI: 9.6–11.7). mean for 0–4, 5–9 10–14 groups 5.1, 14.6 13.2 per 100,000 children/yr, respectively. trend whole group not statistically significant. we found yearly average increase (2.5% [CI 0.4–4.6]; P < 0.05) analysing by sex, this significant observed only boys. We did find seasonal onset pattern. Conclusions The population during unlike results other Spanish regions European Countries.
