摘要: PURPOSE To determine whether cardiovascular fitness (.)VO(2max) is associated with the metabolic syndrome and its individual features in overweight Latino youths. METHODS A total of 163 boys girls (body mass index (BMI) percentile = 97.0 +/- 3.1; age 11.2 1.7 yr) a family history Type 2 diabetes participated this investigation. The was defined as having three or more following risk factors: abdominal obesity, high blood pressure, low HDL-cholesterol, triglycerides, impaired glucose tolerance. determined by progressive treadmill test to exhaustion, body composition assessed using dual energy x-ray absorptiometry. RESULTS not correlated any factor after adjusting for gender, age, partial analysis. Furthermore, ANCOVA revealed that children zero, one, two, factors did differ regards levels. CONCLUSION independently feature youths ethnicity controlling differences confounding variables.
