摘要: Formalin-fixed and paraffin-embedded specimens of 24 human gliomas were examined histochemically with five lectins: concanavalin A (Con A), wheat germ agglutinin (WGA), Ricinus communis 1 (RCA-1), peanut (PNA), Ulex europaeus (UEA-1). Although the staining intensity lectins was variable, tumor cells in astrocytomas, three oligodendrogliomas, six ependymomas, one gliosarcoma, generally positive for Con A, WGA, RCA-1, negative PNA UEA-1, whereas those nine glioblastomas usually WGA RCA-1 as well UEA-1. The malignancy neoplastic astrocytes correlated decrease binding lectins, especially RCA-1. Blood vessels, particularly endothelial layers, all stained intensely used. Macrophages showed two features lectins; stippled granular. former macropliages PNA, latter macrophages Thus, characteristics different from any glioma very useful identification gliomas.
