摘要: Plant species disjunctions have attracted the interest of ecologists for decades. We investigated Trichloris crinita, a native C4 perennial grass with disjunct distribution between subtropical regions North and South America, testing hypothesis that has similar realized climatic niche in both subcontinents. The T. crinita America was characterized compared using presence records five uncorrelated bioclimatic variables selected according to their ecological importance species. used reciprocal modeling make geographic projections within each subcontinent. Niche overlap distributions intermediate individual multivariate space. In all cases test equivalence climates inhabited by indicated differ significantly Also, similarity showed majority subcontinents different than expected chance. occupied greater diversity environments while latter its displaced drier warmer environments. modeled actual occurrences did not accurately predict vice versa. Together, these results led us reject This information may be useful manage restoration efforts presenting suitable areas species, suggesting translocation individuals could only recommended caution because introduced genotypes can potentially maladaptive, colonize sites actually
