摘要: Genetic studies in Drosophila melanogaster first published 1980 revealed mutations called “hedgehog” and “patched”, named for the odd appearance of mutant fly embryos [89]. Since then, work from numerous groups studying many model organisms has come together to reveal what is currently Hedgehog (Hh) signaling pathway. Largely, though not completely, conserved human, this pathway been shown be a master regulator cell proliferation differentiation, influencing critical processes that range early embryonic pattern formation tissue homeostasis adulthood. As might expected network such importance, dysregulation also implicated broad spectrum human diseases, including varieties neoplasia number congenital malformations [41, 86].
