摘要: The study was to evaluate the characteristics of a chitosan membrane cross-linked with naturally-occurring cross-linking reagent, genipin. This newly-developed genipin-cross-linked may be used as an implantable drug-delivery system. without (fresh) and glutaraldehyde-cross-linked were controls. test membranes evaluated their degree, swelling ratio, mechanical properties, antimicrobial activity, cytotoxicity, degradability. It found that using genipin increased its ultimate tensile strength but significantly reduced strain-at-fracture ratio. There no significant difference in activity between fresh counterpart. Additionally, results showed had less cytotoxicity slower degr...
