摘要: We evaluated the electrochemical deposition of Pb(II) onto Fractured Vitreous Carbon (FVC) electrodes from solutions containing very low concentrations lead in different electrolytes (sulfate or chloride). To examine how FVC surface state influences efficiency, were subjected to pretreatments prior actual process. The electrode was used as a representative model vitreous carbon (VC) bulk, avoiding polishing procedure that could change surface. Electrochemical pretreatment carried out by cyclic voltammetry chloride nitrate anions and some cases, ferrocyanide. Before after pretreatment, morphology assessed using Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM) imaging. quantity deposited on (lead efficiency) each experiment estimated charge under anodic, dissolution peak. electrolytic baths consistently reduced efficiency. A detailed analysis, correlating efficiencies roughness fractal dimension freshly prepared electrochemically pretreated electrodes, indicated decrease efficiency corresponded geometry. greater observed chloride-containing electrolyte due interaction between rather than with substrate.
