摘要: Previous research suggests that parental psychopathology predicts suicidal behavior among offspring; however, the more fine-grained associations between specific disorders and distinct stages of pathway to suicide are not well understood. We set out test hypothesis associated with negative mood would predict offspring ideation, whereas characterized by impulsive aggression (for example, antisocial personality) anxiety/agitation panic disorder) which act on their ideation make a attempt. Data were collected during face-to-face interviews conducted nationally representative samples (N=55 299; age 18+) from 21 countries around world. tested range onset persistence over time (that is, since most recent episode controlling for onset) subsequent (suicide plans attempts) offspring. Analyses bivariate multivariate each disorder forms behavior. Results revealed examined increased risk offspring, generalized anxiety depression emerged as only predictors (respectively) personality attempts ideators. A dose-response relation respondent attempt was also found. Parental death particularly strong predictor These remained significant after comorbidity presence mental findings should inform future explorations mechanisms intergenerational transmission
