摘要: Abstract Background Preconditioning (PreC) and postconditioning (PostC) reduce infarct size. We sought to determine the effects of PreC PostC, alone or in combination, on size expression intracellular signals different ischemia models. Methods Male rabbits were subjected myocardial followed by 3-hour reperfusion. In a first series we applied 3 models [a 20-min period (20), 40-min (40), two sequential periods (20–20)] types interventions [no intervention (controls, C), 2cycles 5-min ischemia/10-min reperfusion before index 6cycles 10-s ischemia/10-s after and/or between ischemic (PostC)] (12 groups total). Infarct (I) area at risk (R) assessed (%I/R). second series, samples taken for western blot analysis Akt phosphorylation. Results Overall, %I/R differed significantly among (p Conclusions are effective when an insult given duration is either as single periods. Protection from associated with enhanced activation.
