摘要: Abstract In this communication, we demonstrate that adult mammalian brain neurons express transforming growth factor-alpha (TGF-alpha). We used the anti-TGF-alpha monoclonal antibody, MF9, to immunohistochemically localize TGF-alpha in human and rat brain. found specific immunoreactivity throughout which was not a result of cross-reactivity MF9 with neuropeptide, synenkephalin. Northern blot analysis bovine RNA using cDNA probes, respectively, revealed single 4.8-kilobase pair mRNA approximately equal abundance brainstem, cerebellum, hypothalamus, cerebral cortex. Fetal had about 2-fold more than did rat. The cloned from neonatal brainstem library. Four identical clones were isolated after screening 10(6) recombinant lambda gt11 phage. sequence 894-base virtually renal cell carcinoma. A alanine codon deleted at an exon-exon junction. deletion is within amino-terminal region precursor thought be removed by proteolytic processing mature factor. These studies indicate normal TGF-alpha.
