Iodine-125 Brachytherapy of Brain Stem Tumors

摘要: To report on iodine-125 (125I) interstitial irradiation in the treatment of brain stem tumors. Two patients with tumors were treated CT- and image fusion-guided 125I stereotactic brachytherapy. By March 2003, had been followed up for 47 13 months, respectively. In case 1, tumor volume was 1.98 cm3 control CT, indicating a 65.5% shrinkage as compared to target 5.73 at time 2, more distinct. After irradiation, cyst 0.16 MRI, 97.4% 6.05 brachytherapy, i. e., metastasis virtually disappeared. brachytherapy can be performed during biopsy session. The procedure well planned dosimetrically is surgically precise.
