摘要: A retrospective analysis of the case histories 21 pediatric patients (ages, 2.5 to 18 years) with a histologically proven diagnosis brain stem glioma was performed determine whether patterns radiographic appearance could be correlated pathology. Based on computed tomographic or pneumoencephalographic tumor at time clinical diagnosis, tumors were divided into four types: central intrinsic (Type I), exophytic expansion 4th ventricle II), eccentric not involving III), and both IV). Regardless classification, all except one, who harbored well-differentiated astrocytoma in area pons, had an anaplastic (n = 14) glioblastoma multiforme 6). There no appreciable difference survival between either histology. The presence cystic component did affect survival. High resolution scans, reconstructed images posterior fossa, can predict location associated cysts probably histological nature tumor.
