摘要: Weinman, Donald E. (University of Georgia, Athens), George K. Morris, and William L. Williams. Unidentified growth factor for a lactic acid bacterium. J. Bacteriol. 87:263-269. 1964.-Lactobacillus bulgaricus Georgia strain required an unidentified factor, named (GBF), when grown on semisynthetic basal medium. Aqueous extracts torula yeast beef liver were the best sources GBF. Adenine, ribonucleic (RNA), alkaline digests RNA, Mg(++) also stimulated growth, but to considerably lesser extent than extracts. Several purines, pyrimidines, related compounds promoted responses in individual experiments, not consistently. Intact deoxynucleic (DNA), deoxyadenylic (dAMP), deoxyguanylic (dGMP) inhibited growth. The DNA dAMP inhibitions fully reversed by crude GBF, while dGMP inhibition was only partially reversed. RNA small extent. GBF stable heat at pH 2.5 11 prolonged light exposure. It destroyed heating 1.0. activity moved as single component paper chromatography. firmly adsorbed charcoal poorly soluble organic solvents. A concentrate, 28 times more potent extract, prepared All known factors biological readily available assayed activity, none which gave response similar Final proof that new exists must await definite identification active compounds.
