摘要: Purpose: To investigate the expression of αA- and αB-crystallin heat shock protein 70 (Hsp 70) during curcumin treatment selenium-induced cataractogenesis in Wistar rat pups. Methods: Group I pups received only saline served as control. II were intraperitoneally injected with selenium (15 µM/kg bodyweight) to induce cataract. III also underwent cataract but cotreated 75 mg/kg body weight (single oral dose). IV post-treated at group dosage 24 h after administration. V pretreated before Results: This study found higher levels Hsp lenses alone (group II) than control I). Similar results observed lenses. In contrast, V, presence injection decreased almost same those Conclusions: Curcumin suppressed selenite-induced 70, may therefore suppress formation Pathophysiologically, one early signs is damage lens cell membrane [1], apparently due a decline its ability actively transport substances against electrochemical gradients, resulting alterations intraocular composition metabolism. The connection these effects subsequent opacification tissue, characterized by disulfide-linked proteins molecular weights lower solubility [2], quite complex. Such crosslinks are primarily established between glutathione proteins, especially crystallins. Cataract from loss transparency normal crystallin eye lens, it major cause blindness.
