摘要: Biosorption has attracted attention as a cost-effective means for the treatment of metal-bearing wastewater. However, mechanism metal binding is not clearly understood, and consequently, modeling biosorption performance still raising debates. In this study, trivalent chromium was investigated with protonated brown alga Ecklonia biomass model system. Titration revealed that it contains at least three types functional groups. The Fourier transform infrared spectrometry showed carboxyl group chromium-binding site within pH range (pH 1-5) used in where does precipitate. pK value number groups were estimated to be 4.6 +/- 0.1 2.2 mmol/g, respectively. equilibrium sorption isotherms determined different solution indicated uptake increased significantly increasing pH. A description developed incorporating hydrolysis reactions undergoes aquatic phase. able predict experimental data values concentrations. addition, speciation function predicted using order visualize distribution ionic species on site.
