摘要: Forty-five women with hirsutism were compared 16 normal as to various clinical features and laboratory findings, particularly the 24-hour urinary output of 11 desoxy, 11-oxygenated, total neutral 17-ketosteroids. In seven patients was part a surgically verified Stein-Leventhal syndrome; in 22 it associated irregularities menstruation. There also whom hirsutism, generally less severe than others, coexisted regular menstrual rhythm. Prednisone, daily doses 7.5 15 mg., reduced 17-ketosteroid excretion all gave fair good improvement treated it. Amenorrhea, oligomenorrhea, menometrorrhagia responded remarkably prednisone. The results gratifying. Physiologically they strengthen belief that this type ovarian changes are secondary primary adrenals.
