摘要: Abstract When people have to remember perform an act in the future, they must also keep a record of already performed so as not repeat it. This neglected aspect everyday memory was investigated by examining alleged preponderance action repetitions old age (e.g., telling same story over and over, taking medicine too often, etc.). We propose that such stem from deficiency monitoring actions performed. Although older subjects remembered fewer words study list than younger subjects, were more likely them free recall (Experiments 1 2). later presented with asked judge whether had recalled previous phase, classified unrecalled. In Experiment 3 according (a) appeared (input monitoring) (b) been previously on test (output monitoring). The deficient output input monitoring. Their most frequent error classifying old-output items new-output items, assumed underlie repetition. Several interpretations these results proposed.
