摘要: The neural tube defects anencephaly and spina bifida are important causes of infant mortality morbidity. Recent studies suggest that many these can be prevented by the periconceptional use folic acid. At same time, we do not know what most cases there is evidence to they etiologically heterogeneous. Additional research needs directed toward role occupational environmental exposures in etiology defects. Importantly, need examine embryologically anatomically specific types develop accurate information on biologically relevant exposures. Exposures which attention include organic solvents; agricultural chemicals, including pesticides; water nitrates; heavy metals such as mercury; ionizing radiation; disinfection products. We also recommend additional paid mechanisms closure potential genetic heterogeneity absorption metabolism xenobiotics their effects tube.
