摘要: The biocompatibility of vitreous carbon and fibre reinforced (CFRC) as middle ear implants was investigated. In separate animal model systems, implanted in the 20 DA rats for up to 6 months, whilst 3 varieties CFRC (basic or crude, ultrasonically cleaned, glazed) were 98 guinea-pig ears 4 months. Tissue reactions implantation assessed by means stereoscopic standard light microscopy, scanning electron microscopy with chemical analysis facilities (EDAX, WDAX). Vitreous glazed considered suitable human a trial latter started 23 patients (14 partial, 9 total ossicular implants). At only 52% still situ; 40% had been extruded 8% elicited inflammatory responses which would undoubtedly result extrusion. Carbon particle dissemination destruction exposure peroperative prosthesis drilling likely causes failure this implant.
