An Econometric Study of Deforestation in the Brazil's Amazonian Municipalities

摘要: Using both analytical and econometric frameworks, this paper evaluates the causes of deforestation in Brazilian Amazonian municipalities from 2000 to 2004. Starting with an framework, main that led farmers cut down forests convert soil use other activities are highlighted. Basing on equation is developed estimated using a dynamic panel data model. Agricultural prices, rural credit government expenditure transport have played important roles as stimulators for well inertial process has taken place. The article ends by suggesting some policies restrain without reducing income accessibility local population.
