摘要: Background: Cancer stem cells (CSCs) are involved in tumor progression and drug resistance. We hypothesized that variants CSC marker genes influence treatment outcomes prostate cancer. Methods: Ten potentially functional single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) seven genes, TACSTD2, PROM1, ITGA2, POU5F1, EZH2, PSCA, CD44, were selected for analysis of their association with disease recurrence by Kaplan-Meier Cox regression a cohort 320 patients localized cancer receiving radical prostatectomy. Results: identified one independent SNP, rs2394882, POU5F1 was associated (hazard ratio 0.32, 95% confidence interval 0.14-0.71, P = 0.005) after adjustment known clinical predictors. Further silico analyses revealed rs2394882 affects expression, which turn is significantly correlated aggressiveness patient prognosis. Conclusion: Our results suggest prognostically relevant cancer, possibly modulating the expression gene POU5F1.
